I have had my share of issues with the xml-sitemaps plugin from Arne Brachold messing with my wp-hive installs every time I upgraded the plugin. (There are some sites I've had to reconfigure the plugin as many as 5 times). So, i went in search of a better answer.

I found the Standard XML Sitemap plugin from Patrick Chia. It is different in that it generates the sitemap "on the fly" like the blog's feed is generated. It would seem to be perfect. However, it seems that wp-hive tries to redirect the sitemap to the wp-hive site's private folder. Or, at least that's what it seems to be.

I would like to request having an option to not have wp-hive try to redirect the sitemap. Then the auto-generated sitemap could be used.

If I have 10 sites for 10 groups, I might have 10 administrators. The only person I want to have access to WP-Hive is me. I don't want the others to see the Hive.

How do I make that happen?

So far WP Hive seems to be the right choice for me, however, I would like to know if the following would be possible.

1. Have a top "Ad Stripe" that is common amongst each of the blogs in the Hive. I like to stripe at the top of the WPMU blogs that carries the same info through out each blog.

2. A categories plugin or widget that can be utilized within each blog in the Hive. Something like the old webring widgets.

3. Have the ability to add html/java to the main super admin blog that carries through to the other Hive blogs. For instance...if I was to put a RTA rating in the meta tags for the main blog, it would show up in all the blogs.

Thanks - Jay

Hello,

I'm new here and I'm searching for a good (but not necessarily free) plugin or script to install and manage WordPress on many domains (Multi-Domain/Multi-Site).

As I know, WP MU (and the upcoming WP 3.0) is primarely not for Multi-Domain but only for Multi-Users so it's no successor for WP Hive and the like.

I already tested:
- Virtual Multiblog for WordPress
- WP_OneInstall
- WP Hive free

All are free and quite good working. But all lacks some really significant features.

Therefore I think about buying one of the better scripts. WP Hive Pro costs $50 PER YEAR which is not very cheap. I don't hesitate to buy one but I have to know if WP Hive Pro will really have continuous development.

Yes, there is a nice Feature Roadmap but without any time frame. Will it take days or week, months or years?

How is the future of WP Hive Pro?

Thanks.

Feature Request: Multiple MySQL databases

That means to have the possibility to use more then just one database for the installation of WP sites under WP Hive Pro.

This is already an existing feature under WP_OneInstall (very easy) and Virtual Multiblog (a bit complicated).

I'm trying to create a new topic under Troubleshooting. When I try to send the post I get an error saying "Topic not found. Back to WP Hive." That last sentence is a link back to the forums page.

Greetings

It would be great if in a future release, the ability to delete plugins and themes are disabled from new blogs, so that only the original blog can do so. And also disabling the editing of any plugin or theme that is being active in other blogs.

It will then be safer for us to create new blogs for our kids and friends, knowing that they cannot accidentally delete the theme I'm using or the plugins I can't do without.

Many thanks.

I've been using MU and multisite plugin for a year now and I just installed my first version of the Hive. Two things jump out at me immediately, one is how the lack of a super user, I have seen a few comments on this one here in the forums and it may be addressed in the future. It is very nice to be able to jump from one blog to the other without having to log in every single time. I would consider this a must have for my purposes.

The other one, is that MU allows me to activate a plugin over all my blogs (sitewide on subdomains only though - not using the multisite plugin). It would be nice to see this feature in the hive.

Another feature that I need is the ability to copy the settings on each plugin. I'm going to have to build this one myself I'm afraid, but I need to copy the option settings for headspace, googleXML sitemaps, permalinks, etc. When I create a new site, I don't want to have to manually set these settings every time. Anybody have this going for them?

I installed the hive in hopes of making my life simpler when it comes to creating a new blog (I'm building a very large network with 1000s of subdomains) so I need it to be quick and easy...

Anybody else out here see any big advantages for using the hive for a pure subdomain setup? I can't see any significant reason that will keep me in the hive right now, MU has several items that I think I will really miss with the hive.

Just my two cents

I realize there are other priorities, but here are two things that would make launching new blogs in Hive easier:

1. Allow new blogs to be created with either the Admin's current password or a single password set by the owner rather than a unique random password assigned by Wordpress.

2. Allow the Admin to configure Hive so new blogs replicate the attributes of the main blog, such as settings copied (e.g. Settings > Permalinks > Numeric), plugins activated (e.g. WP-Hive already activated), theme selected, etc.

Both of these features would make it easy to setup the first blog and quickly create a few new blogs already setup how you want them.

Hi there, I'm wondering if Wp_hive can synchronize between offline and online blogs:
