Can I stop a new WP installation on ftp.mydomain.com

    It has been brought to my attention that if a person is to enter http://ftp.mydomain.com into a web browser it begins a new wordpress installation like you would with a new subdomain. Is there a fix for this? I don't want some random idiot messing with this . . .

    Yes. Set allow_new_hosts to 0 in the wphive_config table. This setting is always recommended.
