Install Domain and/or Sub-domain Site Does NOT Work

    Hi John

    I want to support WP Hive project and spread the word. Last weekend I started testing wp-hive.0.5.3 with WordPress Version 2.9.1. Used DreamHost One-Click Installs, followed your Installation Instructions, but unfortunately can NOT install new domain and/or sub-domain blogs. Could you please let me know if I missed something?

    You need to be more specific. When you say "can NOT install new domain and/or subdomain blogs," I can't tell what you're doing. Please describe the exact procedure you're following, what occurs at each step, and what you see on the screen when you reach the fail point.

    Without knowing what error messages you're receiving it's difficult to advise you.

    Have you created the domains/subdomains with your host? You have to do that first and then point them to the right directory.

    Thank you for you response. I created the domains/sub-domains with my host and used ”/” for none sub-directory.

    The following is the WP Hive > Edit page
    (http://www.newforyou.info/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp-hive/admin/edit.php):

    WP Hive > Edit

    Site Name Prefix Site ID

    newforyou.info/ wp_5cwiww_ 1 Visit Site
    iPad.newforyou.info/ wp_2iPad_ 2 Install Site
    gypin.net/ wp_5gypin_ 5 Install Site
    iTunes.newforyou.info/ wp_4iTunes_ 4 Install Site

    The following is the page which I am getting when I click on any of the 3 "Install Site" links:

    Index of /

    Name Last modified Size Description

    favicon.gif 30-Jan-2010 04:22 0
    favicon.ico 30-Jan-2010 04:22 0

    Please let me know if I missed something.

    Hi, this is a domain pointing issue.

    Make sure you have pointed iPad.newforyou.info, gypin.net, and iTunes.newforyou.info to the same directory that has the index.php file for newforyou.info.

    In CPanel, this is done as an add-on domain or a parked domain.
