Is database shared?

    I managed to install wp-hive on 2 domains. I noticed when setting up the second blog, I was not asked for the db name, username or password. That left me a little puzzled as to which db it was actually using.

    Also, would installing already live blog be similar to a fresh install or otherwise.

    Anyway thanks for the plugin and supports.

    I was hoping for someone to answer...

    Reason I asked was that I like to keep the database separate for each blog. So is this possible?

    Yes, the database is shared. WP Hive uses the 'Table Prefix' feature to maintain separate tables for each blog within the same database.

    Seriously?

    Surely a different db for each blog would be much smarter, faster, more portable and far less prone to catastrophe.

    Great plugin but shared database is a major weakness.

    For me, that was the main idea about it. To minimize scatter by having one installation in one database of these many wordpress (sometimes inactive) blogs.

    Having separate db for each blog will not save your blog in case of catastrophy. Regular backup will do.
