Share posts across blogs?

    Hey, WP Hive folks -- I'm trying to do something, and I wonder if WP Hive can do it for me.

    I want to set up a company Web site where each of our departments has its own section that its employees can maintain. I figured to give each department a "blog" that would serve as a content management system.

    But they will need to share posts across blogs. That is, I'd like to create categories in a "main" blog that pull content from *every* blog.

    For example, if both the marketing and professional standards departments put out press releases (i.e., they create posts in the "Press Release" category), the "Press Releases" category on the main page should pull in both of them.

    Can WP Hive do this?

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for posting! Congrats on being the first official poster on the new site. :)

    WP Hive doesn't support that right now. A feature like it is being considered for a future release.

    However, I'm wondering if you could use something like QuickRSS to grab the category feeds from the department blogs and insert it into the main blog?

    QuickRSS (or Simplepie) won't quite do what I need -- but someone else pointed me to the Role Scoper plugin, which might do the trick.

    Hi, Andrew. Did this work? I am now attempting to do the same thing. I would like the home page to pull the latest posts from each blog.

    Did anyone figure out if this works? It would be great to be able to have several different blogs feeding into a master blog that can pull items up by category/tag.

    It looks like Role Scoper will solve the issue of restricting access for the individual departments, but it's not going to help pull the content onto the main blog. I need this functionality as well so I'll keep hunting.
