Thank's for all the effort.
I have one question: users of former versions, should uninstall before updating to the new version?
Posted 2 years ago # -
It's not necessary to uninstall. Just replace the
wp-content/plugins/wp-hivefolder, and you're good to go.Posted 2 years ago # -

Auto update killed my admin page. I cannot access my …/posts/wp-admin/ anymore, /posts/ is where the wordpress is installed. It redirects me to …/wp-admin/ which is a 404. Stuck.# ikailo

To manually deactivate WP Hive, delete the file ../wp-content/db.php from the file system.I will look into the issue of installing it in a subdirectory. Thanks for letting me know.

Thank you that worked to get me back into the dashboard, but broke wp hive (obviously). I’ll try re-installing it, not sure why it started the re-direct, it was working before.Posted 2 years ago # -
For now I am just deleting the .db to get into my dashboard and then re-adding it after I finish a post. Not sure why it stopped working, my main site never had wp-hive activated. Thanks for any help.

WP Hive was initially built with the idea that it would be installed as the root site in the directory. (eg: domain.com), the new version allows for subdomains set up off the root (eg: domain.com/blog1).
It hasn't been really built for the way that you are using it. If it worked with 0.4.x, then you may be better off continuing to use that until I can get to the root of the issue.
In 0.4x, WP Hive was always active if db.php was in place - the 'plugin' part added very little, so it did not matter if it was active or not. In 0.5, db.php and the plugin are one and the same. If db.php is in place, the plugin is active in all the sites. If the plugin is deactivated, then db.php is removed. and vice-versa.

That makes a lot of sense. The only real problem is that I can't access the admin pages because it needs the literal url (.../posts/wp-admin/). All other url's are truncated, I forget how, its been so long since I installed in in a subdirectory folder, but it never shows up in normal use.
for example:
http://music-addiction.com/2009/10/weekend-mix-3/actually exists at
http://music-addiction.com/posts/2009/10/weekend-mix-3/
Something like that.
Sorry for the confusion, I really really enjoy using wp-hive, and I'm sorry I abused it's power. Now if I could only find a link to the old version.

I understand the issue. Give me a little while and I'll get it working for you. I guess there's no better way to see if all the bugs are fixed than releasing it to the general public. :)

If you're rolling back to the previous version, you'll also want to add back a value to the
wphive_configtable. Set:item = installedandval = 1. You can do that using a tool like phpmyadmin.Posted 2 years ago # -
Here is a discussion on installing WP Hive with WordPress residing in a subdirectory: http://wp-hive.com/forums/topic.php?id=140
